Weekly Connections – Meet the Huber’s

Grace Community Family  – MEET THE HUBER’S

Good afternoon every one! I hope that your week is going great and trusting that God is continuing to bless each and every one of you! This week we are going to get to know the Huber Family just a little bit better! What a great couple who have dedicated so much to Grace Community Church! Tell us about your family… We were both born and raised in North Dakota. We met in college and fell in love after college and were married in 1984. We have two boys: Michael is in his 3rdyear at Moody Bible Institute in Chicago. He is studying to be a High School teacher. Chris is a senior at New Ulm High School and will graduate in May. He is planning to attend SDSU in Brookings, SD. Dalton has worked as Finance Manager at New Ulm Medical Center since we moved here in 2007. Wanita works at Spinning Spools quilt shop.

She enjoys quilting, scrapbooking, and spending time with friends. Chris delivers pizza for Happy Joes. What brought you to GCC?…. We met Jeff and Ellen Juni in 2007 on our first Sunday at the E-Free church in Mankato and joined their bible study. We were part of the core team that formed the Church. What GCC activities/groups do you participate in? Dalton served as Elder, Treasure, equipment setup, and on the worship team. We led worship together on a monthly basis. We have been part of several community groups and Wanita has participated in some women’s bible studies. Wanita also coordinated Help and Caring ministry for a while. Chris has been involved in worship. If you could share 1 thing with everyone you talked to about why you attend GCC, what would it be?  God’s love is genuinely alive in the people there! We know there is a big change in store for you guys in the near future, what are your plans? We are in process of relocating to Gillette Wyoming. Dalton has accepted a job there in the hospital working in finance and administration. We have several friends there and look forward to living closer to the mountains. We look forward to what God has in store for us there. Come and Visit!!

  • Ministry Opportunity: Carol Schenck is looking for someone who would like to take over the children’s bags for church. This would entail making sure they are filled with fun activities for the kids every Sunday! If you would like to take over this ministry please talk to Carol Schenck or call Leah in the Church Office.

  • Foundation Class: If anyone is interested in taking a Foundation Class, Pastor Phil will be starting one in March. Please talk to Pastor Phil or Leah to get signed up today!

  • Children’s Church Update: Please continue to read your connections weekly as we will have a brief overview of what the kids learned in Sunday school that Sunday.

Dear Parents,

We are so excited your child was able to join us this week for the kickoff of the Gospel Project for Kids! This week began a three-year chronological study of Scripture. Each week’s study will build upon the previous week, and we can’t wait to help boys and girls discover the big picture of God’s story.

God’s story begins with creation. This week we learned what God made during the six days of creation – from light and stars to birds and people! Everything God made is good. Have you ever wondered why butterflies exist or why the sky explodes with vivid color when the sun sets? The Bible says that all things were created for Jesus (Colossians 1:16-17)

We also found out that God didn’t just create people for no reason. He created people with a purpose: to know, love and glorify Him. Colossians 1:15-22 reveals that Christ is ruler over all of God’s creation. All of creation was created by Him, through Him, and for Him. It’s all about Jesus! Everything was created to give glory to God, but people would choose not to give Him glory. The rest of the Bible reveals how Jesus would restore the relationship between God and man.
