Good afternoon every one! I hope that your week is going great and trusting that God is continuing to bless each and every one of you! You are going to get to know the Freier’s just a little bit better after you read this column! What a great family that is so full of Love for Jesus Christ.

Tell us about your family…  We both grew up in Linton, ND and started dating as a junior and senior in high school; both of us graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead and got married May 25th, 2002. We moved to New Ulm in March of 2006. Toby works at the New Ulm Medical Center and Amanda is a stay at home mom of our three amazing children Luke-8, Avery-5, and Taryn-2. Luke is a 2nd grader at St. Paul’s and he loves it! He also loves sports; basketball, baseball and football are his favorites. Avery is in pre-school at St. Paul’s and has too really enjoys school. She is gifted in gymnastics and dance and she loves to sing and be creative. Our youngest, Taryn is a busy little girl who loves life! She will smile and talk to anybody, anywhere with lots of enthusiasm. She keeps her mommy very busy. What brought you to GCC?…We were looking for a church with solid bible teaching, a community focus and contemporary worship and were led by God to a small group bible study with a few couples in New Ulm looking for the same thing. That led to lots of prayer and discussion on starting an E-Free church in New Ulm. We ended up on the Launch team for the church start-up. What GCC activities/groups do you participate in? Toby participates in the weekly men’s small group study, Amanda participates in a weekly women’s study and we have participated in a few couples studies also. Toby is the Children’s Church ministry leader and Amanda also helps with Children’s Church as well.  If you could share 1 thing about why you attend GCC with everyone you talked to, what would it be? We like GCC because we can genuinely seek to know and love Jesus through worship and small groups.

  •  Membership Classes: Membership classes will be starting up Feb. 5th, so if you are interested in becoming a member of GCC please see Pastor Phil or Leah for more information.
  •    Super Sunday Small Group Kickoff: Community groups offer a unique opportunity for Christ’s church to grow in relationship with Him as well as each other in a flexible and comfortable environment. There are several fantastic opportunities available to be a part of a community group that is starting soon! There will be men’s groups, Biblical finance groups, women’s groups, youth groups, Biblical worldview groups, and the list goes on. Are you interested? Is your curiosity peaked? This Sunday there will be a community group kickoff event where you will have the opportunity to learn more and actually visit with many of the different community group leaders. In preparation for these different events and for the actual launch of the groups, we would ask that you would prayerfully consider either joining a group if you are not currently involved in one AND/OR inviting a friend to join you in a community group. Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
